back from the west coast

We're back in NYC, fresh off a month-long trip to California! Breanne was doing an artist residency at the Kala Institute in Berkeley, and Peter was recording music with our buddy Dustin in SF. Their project is called ORCA. We also stayed in Sonora quite a bit, and took a family river trip down the Tuolumne = AMAZING.

Tiny peek at Breanne's letterpress print folio completed at Kala. This is 1 of 12 prints:

Kristin has started to offer baking classes in LA, so they'll be available starting today at Bakelab headquarters.

Hi there. It's been awhile since our last update. We've been busy lil bees just working, traveling, making art and music! All good things.

Big update in the flat files tonight with more to come, especially in the Bakelab section.

Quicklinks to the new stuff:

+ Sound and visual collab with Brody Condon

+ Jumbo spiral notebook paper. Srsly so fun.

+ Ongoing work with Bakelab. This work is tough because I must sit and stare at Kristin's amazingly yummy artisanal cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies alllll day long. It is good, bad, and ugly at times. But mostly just good. My favorites are the peanut butter cookies and root beer float cupcakes! ONE DAY LEFT TO BUY A FATHER'S DAY BOX - nationwide shipping!

Then they invited us to design a limited edition bag, which will be available at their upcoming Sample Sale.

Note: When the bags lay flat they look like tank tops! So we've added a neckline and pocket. :)

Project: We collaborated with Brody Condon on the audio and visual elements for his performative installation Case, an adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer. Peter designed the sound and Breanne created the surface pattern design, printed and sewed the cubes.

Case was commissioned and presented by Rhizome and Performa 2009: the New York Biennial of performance art. It premiered at the New Museum in November 2009. The cubes were included in the 2010 PS1 Greater NY show.
